Elance Project: Ended & Assessment
Below is the final new logo from my first elance outsourceing project. I like it more than what I have & to be fair “opensource’-ish-ness is impossible to capture in a graphic nature without going heavily into cheese.
I like the logo’s balance. Not sure what that means? Me either, but I find overall it looks good despite having some not super great elements.
Anyhoo finding the ‘perfect’ logo wasn’t the point of this test, exploring the process was. So here’s the rundown:
1) I found the elance website an absolute biatch to navigate in project management mode as a noob.
2) I chose my winner bidder on much more that cost. I was looking for quality of work (portfolios help when outsourcing graphic work), an established amount of income though elance already & a good reputation with an adequate number of feedback posts.
3) I was expecting it to be a game of iteration to get to good & that was exactly as expected.
4) The amount of email notices was good/acceptable. I was expecting a deluge.
5) Should I choose to remove the graphic then it is conceivable that I could have done that myself. The fact is…. I wouldn’t have. I offloaded a task at a reasonable price which was the point.
