Google Custom Search
Update: Not going to happen. Search traffic, surprisingly, went down. And…it wasn’t that ugly. Ok, it was. Still, sometimes you must leave well enough alone.

I’m thinking about how to drive traffic to OSDir’s Google Custom Search bar.
I suspect that half my visitors that come from Google find something helpful about half the time. Instead of hitting the back bar I want those folks to do a deeper search while on osdir. I suspect that in addition to not losing a visitor it should help them find exactly what they’re after.
In the process they should be happier with osdir, but also the adsense for search revenue just might help offset killing off some of the adsense on the content pages. Everyone wins.
Right now I have an admittedly ugly floating search bar on the bottom of a few pages as a quick & dirty test.
